Rarely are you allowed to just go absolutely nuts with something. We did. And we were fortunate enough to be shortlisted for Cyber at Cannes for it.
The idea – Five Alive makes you feel unexpectedly alive. We delivered on that promise with an integrated campaign driving to a new website, featuring a Max Headroom-type character named Billy Balaclava (above) among many other strange and wonderful things.
SuperCrazyAlive was a Flash site built with 3D Papervision featuring all-original illutration, animation, interactive movies, games and music. Taking inspiration from an early interactive experiment called Fly Guy, our goal was to create something that made you want to explore and discover all the curious and unexpected things, tell your friends about it and return again and again. The site had over 500,000 visitors in the first two months.
We made custom ringtones for download at the Ringtone Buffet. They were totally bananas.
Rich media banners like this one with Guncle (the goat that looks like your uncle) had a CTA of over 5%.
Go on an adventure in a world within a can of Five Alive and play custom mini-games including a Dance Dance Revolution-inspired battle with a mouthy robot (above), race taste buds down a giant tongue and dunk on the smack-talking carny unicorn. We voiced the dozens of characters on the site ourselves (don’t tell Actra).
At 5pm every day, something totally unexpected would happen on the site in order to drive return visits. We created 30 or so videos, interactions and experiments, including this animation of a 1950s preying mantis arriving home from a long day at the office only to have his head devoured by his adoring wife.
And this one – laser squirrel in space set to the 2001 Space Odyssey. So much fun.
